I don't really think there is a major need for more profs?
What I think would be good though. How about being able to kit out your henchies? Prior to heading out with your henchies, you can load their skills sets for them and choose from a pool of equipment (usable only from their current skill level) and then when you go out you can select each henchie and provide some basic commands (defend me, defend then a number for whichever henchie, attack, flank etc...

I think the Assasin and Ritualist are actually very well thought out, they still have a very unique feel about them and require a different train of thought to be skilled at them.
The trouble is two new proffesions straight away is a bit of a shock .. if they did one proffesion a year from here on out it wouldnt be bad at all.
but as has been pointed out, you wouldnt want TOO many proffesions there has to be a limit I suppose

Archaic Mage (time magic, telikenetics), and I would like a summoner, and spear to be added to the game (a unique spear wielding class would be awesome)
I think we'll prolly see
Dervish- Dancing Fighter
Bard

summoner would be a great class althought there isn't much difference compare with necromancer who summon undead, these class would probably summon strange creatures to help them fight in battles.
Whether there is new professions or not, i hope Chapter 3 live up to the expectation.

In the radio interview (before factions released) they announced two new professions per game. Also Sin and Rit will NOT be in C3.
The other thing about the "new" professions, is that there more "specialized" to a style of play vs the varity of stuff you can do with the core classes.
It's also an invalid assumption that a C4 users will even bother with getting C2 or C3.
It's the user that has everything that will have an huge amount of jobs to choose from, but a person with 1-2 chapter is not going to have all these jobs.
With each the expansion the game is changing.
One of the Biggest change will be the assumption that you have access to a specific job, or skill or armor is going to be INVALID.
With only have 2 games under the belt, majority of people everyone can get access to the "cookie cutter builds" or currently worse situation, I won't party with you because you should have X, Y, Z.
Around C3-5 there is going to be a big shift to Specific builds / Exact specs to "theme" where your suppose to accomplish XYZ no matter what skills or armor you have.
There is going to be a culture transation and some kicking and screaming.. I'm not going to party with you because your not an XYZ build.. err ok but I don't own C2 and don't have that skill before it.
Think of it this way, Magic the gathering, Alpha/Beta, everyone has access to the same cards. There were specific decks, combos that everyone used, as they add more sets and expansions and changed rules, you had the flavor builds but with the current "free for all" you can NOT count on any build.

The two profassions I'd like to see:
1. Shapeshifter : Like as was mentioned it would be similar to the druid in D2where you can shapeshift into a few different animals, and from there you'll have access to certain weapon skills. ie: when a warrior puts on a axe, he can then use his axe skills. When a shapeshifter transforms into a ____ he'll then can use his ____ skills. Some ideas for animals to transform into: Dragon (fire), Bird (projectiles), Bear (physical)...
2. Horseman/spearman. Something that rides a horse, and uses spears that would be sweet.

Assassin: Daggers. They were a new weapon... spears wouldn't be far fetched as rangers launch projectiles too.

I propose a "Nerfer" class who wields a large foam bat, which functions in the opposite way as a Signet of Capture.
Everytime they hit you, you unlearn a spell. In PvP mode, they actually Re-lock skills.
If you kill the Nerfer, you get all the spells back, but only at half-power.

IMO, A.net needs to get more creative with their classes. So far, only the mesmer is a truly unique class not seen in other MMORPG's. GW does offer more variety to their "cookie-cutter" classes however which is what first attracted me to the game.
Cookie Cutters - Warrior (obvious, but needed in any game)...Ranger (wilderness survival is great however)...Necromancer (typical dark caster, new MM options work fine with me though)...Monk (run of the mill healer with so/so smiting, prot is nice)...Elementalist (mage, period)...Assassin (very similar to any burst melee dmg class, shadow/deadly arts are nice)...Ritualist (looks unique at first, but is extremely similar to a shaman class [especially a WoW shaman]).
Unique Classes: Mesmer - I have never seen a class devoted to degen, condition spread, interrupts, and general annoyance. The mesmer is great against just about any class and is able to adapt to almost any situation.
Get more creative with the classes A.net!! Even if they have even more specialized roles like the introduction of subclasses. I want to see some more creative classes like the mesmer.

I still think Shamanists would be a great class. Druids would be great, but I do not see them fitting in with a North African setting. I do think Witchdoctors would fit, but we already have priests covered and they could just be another disaster (akin to the Ritualist being nothing but an awkward combination of class skills with different names, costs, and timing)... I do think a hand-to-hand character would be interesting. I think a Raider or Martial Artist of sorts would be interesting. Of course, the martial artist would not fit the North African theme unless it was some sort of fighting style from that region.
Shamans
Raiders
I think a leader class of some sort, as I said before, would be interesting.

I think the new profession should be "Storage Mule." You could pick from an assorment of animals or even bipod characters and perhaps make them look the way you want. But their whole purpose is just store stuff for you. They could have like a hundred slots for storage. Maybe they could even follow your other characters around with a the huge pack of stuff on their backs kinda like the minipet. lol
Heck half the people in game already have these type characters so why not make it a profession. Maybe this is the way that Anet will increase our storage since it hasn't happend yet. And if your account is full that'll be the $10 for extra slot for your storage mule.
I'm kidding but it would be funny.

And one more thing... The game hasnt even been announced yet and all you people are already complaining? Guess there is just no pleasing some people.

Guildwars population is always going to have lots of complaints, it's actually a sign on how much people love the game. When any changes affect the way they play, they feel about it.
Despite all the complaints about changes, as long as those players still play, Anet did there job. It's when they quit anet will see why and I know that anet planned for people to leave.
Anet has a dream and there dream is to make a series of games that are free to play based on something that did not exist. Anyone who has played C1 for any length of time knows Anet will always keep changing something, until they go out of business.
I rember the original cut scene's from the beta events towards the end. It went from get as many meat bodies as possible, something odd with the charr, and if you lost the PvP "taste" you were worthless and had to do some "clean up" in the storage. To Oh thank you for going in to the service, and for losing "you did well" lets go here...
That being said as long as there constructive or I don't like X because of Y, and allow other's to aruge it's healthy It's when Poster X is <insert negative adjuctive> I personally think less of them, less likely to be respect there opinion.

We have ninjas, we need pirates. Then we can all see in person how superior pirates are to ninjas in the pvp arenas.
As for the crowd control class suggestion - please god no. In every MMORPG that I've ever played, CC just makes things very frustrating and unfun.

Think Africa people, we need:
* camel riders;
* egyptian gods;
* mummies; and
* safari hunters.
I can't wait to see the new PETS, like:
* elephants;
* lions; and
* snakes.
How about transport, like river boats?
